Usually when we see a map of states split between red and blue it's showing which way they've gone in a potlicial election. But in this case, the divide shown in the above demographic chart is actually based on which states prefer Marvel characters to DC characters.
Created by Dish Network partner U.S. Dish using Google analytics, the charts show which states prefer Marvel's heroes versus DC's. While overall it appears that Marvel is the overall preferred superhero universe - a fact Dish Network recognizes is likely due to the success of Marvel's films - but state-by-state, the favorite individual character is a little more spread out - with some surprising results.
