Justice League #32 // Review

Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV are joined by legendary artist Howard Porter for a very apropos return to the series. Past, present, and future collide as the teams across time come together to stop Lex Luthor and his multiversal goddess, Perpetua. While the stakes continue to rise, this writing duo takes their time with this issue relying more on exposition and plot as they reach the halfway mark in this epic story arc. Porter's artistry, coupled with the glorious colorwork of Hi-fi makes for an absolutely gorgeous issue in place of up and coming legend, Jorge Jimenez.

With a race for the final fragments of the Totality at hand, both Legion and League set out across time in hopes of reaching it before the opposing forces. A more quiet issue this time around, the chapter focuses on setting up the plot for the arc and putting the pieces in place for the final showdown. As unexpected allegiances are formed, the Legion of Doom has their work cut out for them as the League continues to grow across hypertime.

Long-time DC creator and legendary JLA artist, Howard Porter makes his return to the series once again in this high concept epic. His signature style is a welcomed change as a guest artist, giving a break to Jimenez between issues and allowing Porter to cover the less pertinent information. At times the art can seem a bit congested on pages with a more significant number of characters. However, it all adds to the charm of Porter's pencil work and how it has evolved over the years. With many exciting moments throughout this issue, Porter has plenty of pages to complexity sink his teeth into.

James Tynion IV working alongside Scott Snyder proves to be lucrative yet again as the two continue to collaborate spectacularly together and becoming one single voice. From the high concepts of Snyder to the exceptional use of exposition and prose with Tynion, this series completely fires on all cylinders. Without deviation from the course, the two can take a breather with this issue and flesh out a bit more of this explosive story arc and what is still yet to come.

Continuing to pay homage to the past while managing to build their own branch upon the mythos, Snyder, and Tynion create an unforgettable tale with a cast of magnificent artists. DC's flagship title stands tall and proves to be the powerhouse initially promised.
