Harley Quinn X Elvira #3 // Review

They’ve just gotten out of a big jam, but now they’re kind of in a different one altogether. And now they’re asking a Kryptonian for help, which might just be a very, ERY bad sort of a position for them. They’re going to be dealing with a lot, but they might just make it out of the whole situation alive in Harley Quinn X Elvira #3. The writing team of Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti usher their two title characters through a bit of a strange adventure with Power Girl in a story that’s brought to page and panel by Amanda Conner and Walter Pereyra. Color comes to the page courtesy of Amanda Conner.

Harley and Elvira confronted a guy who was doing some pretty awful things. And now they’re forced to deal with the fact that there’s a particularly awful figure by the name of Bad Samaritan who is after them. He’s powerful, but he’s not exactly Kryptonian powerful, so Harley and Elvira should be fine so long as they are able to convince Power Girl to help them out. In order to do so, they’ve got a lot of explaining to. do and things might be pretty rough with respect to that.

Conner and Palmiotti Roll through a pretty fun comedy story. There's enough humor in it to keep it moving. However, the dialogue does drag a bit. It's not quite as witty as it seems to think it is. And that's a bit of a problem. Outside of that, the basic plot and premise is actually a lot of fun. And just about anything that involves. Power Girl with Conner and Palmiotti tends to be a great deal of fun. So it's just nice to have her around for a little bit longer. They were always so good with her in her own title.

Once again, it's really nice to see Conner delivering a bit of story featuring Power Girl. Her solution to the problem of being fun. It's kind of a throwback to the type of thing that they had been working with when they had been working on her title. The visuals are that distinct cross between traditional, superhero style action and something that feels more like it's out of an old Warner Bros. cartoon. The action hits the page and just the right way. And it's fun to see these three characters hanging out together on the page.

Really, the series could just keep going. There's really no reason why he should really come to an end. Everybody involved is actually very cool. And the creative team seems to be working quite well together. It's all very well orchestrated. It's light comedy. And some of it feels a little bit tiring. But it's fun enough overall that it keeps moving. It's too bad that something like this seems as unstable as it is. The plot seems to be running all over the place. It's kind of difficult to maintain in the long run. It’s fun for the time being, though.
